Storytelling versatility, founded on rigorous journalism training and seasoned with a global worldview, makes Karyn a strategic asset to her clients. Karyn started as a senior account executive at G&S in 2012 and has risen to lead an account team supporting corporate communications for one of the agency’s key agribusiness clients. Not only does Karyn develop content, campaigns and media communications across various platforms for multiple audiences, she also provides strategic counsel to her clients on issues that impact crop protection products and biotechnology. A frequent contributor to the custom publication Thrive, Karyn won national awards for her article on a client’s efforts to recover from the impact of Hurricane Maria. Prior to G&S, Karyn spent five years working in media relations and business development for the corporate legal industry before a brief stint as a technical writer, researcher and editor at a disaster preparedness company. Karyn earned a bachelor’s degree in English with minors in music and Norwegian from Pacific Lutheran University, where she served as concertmaster of the University Symphony Orchestra. She later earned her master’s degree in journalism with a concentration in print from Columbia University. During a 10-week graduate internship as a reporter with The Hindustan Times in India, Karyn covered news about agriculture—a topic that would foreshadow her future in ag communications.
