Propelling Sans-Blade Brain Surgery
INSIGHTEC selected G&S (formerly as CooperKatz & Company) to increase awareness of how focused MRI-guided ultrasound (MRgFUS) is changing the way essential tremor is treated and enabling brain surgery without a blade. Working via traditional and social media, G&S is amplifying the INSIGHTEC message among patients, caregivers and medical influencers, with media coverage including the Associated Press, NPR “Morning Edition,” a feature article in The Boston Globe for treatment center Brigham Women’s and Children, and a taping for the Emmy® Award-winning talk show “The Doctors.” Since working with G&S, INSIGHTEC has seen a 75% increase in Facebook shares, 64 percent increase in likes, 65% increase in comments and 90% increase in link clicks.
Igniting Urgent Care Growth
CityMD Urgent Care is in the midst of rapid expansion having grown to more than 100 locations in New York, New Jersey and Seattle. To support this growth and the company’s mission to “Serve Kindness,” G&S (formerly as CooperKatz & Company) set out to make CityMD a media go-to for all things consumer health. In 2017, a strategy of tying our earned media efforts to vital and timely health and wellness trends drove 1.9 billion in total media impressions, 1,300-plus placements and a 109.09% increase in media impact from the year prior. CityMD drove headlines in such top outlets as The New York Times, CBS News, Buzzfeed, USA Today and Reuters. A smart flu survey generated 300-plus pieces of earned media coverage alone, and helped generate 2,715 total flu shots and 53,000-plus cases of the flu diagnosed at CityMD sites. CityMD has since become one of the most popular urgent care locations in the Northeast, poised for continued success.
Collaborating with Healthcare Consulting Leader
Navigant Healthcare, a leading consulting and outsourcing provider charged G&S (formerly as CooperKatz & Company) to generate increased awareness of its expertise among key healthcare industry stakeholders. We implemented a comprehensive media strategy focused on proactive outreach around key industry themes and reactively pitching breaking healthcare news. During our engagement, we secured more than 100 placements in top publications including Bloomberg News, Modern Healthcare and Healthcare Finance News, with cover stories in both Hospitals & Health Networks and Medical Economics. Navigant spokespeople were broadly quoted in top tier outlets tied to such industry-shaping news as the Supreme Court “King v. Burwell” case on the future of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Our team also leveraged high profile media relations work to secure speaking opportunities.
Advancing the Work of Practicing Physicians
At a time of significant change in the U.S. healthcare system, G&S (formerly as CooperKatz & Company) has served since 2011 as the communications arm of The Physicians Foundation, a national non-profit organization that seeks to advance the work of practicing physicians. Our work encompasses branding and messaging; promotion of key grants and proprietary research such as the biennial Survey of America’s Physicians; ongoing media outreach to top-tier and health trade press; and social channel management and content. Creatively, we have redesigned the Foundation’s logo and all visual design elements, re-wrote and oversaw two re-designs of its website, and produced multiple video pieces tied to critical intellectual capital. Coverage and op-eds have appeared in scores of national, regional and trade publications – including significant presence in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and Forbes and many others.
